HABITUAL RITUAL

   In many ancient cultures, walking through a stone spiral represents the journey and evolution of life, coiling toward the ultimate goal in the center. 

Rituals – the symbolic behaviors we perform before, during, and after a meaningful event, involving repeated sequences of actions. Performing rituals can mark a personal turning point, and help you summon your whole self, and in that magic moment, commit to intentions. By identifying habits that get in the way of goals or intentions, we can craft a new routine (or ritual) in order to replace our negative habits. The installation starts at the bottom of a staircase, to draw the participant in and get them wondering what lies at the top. Once they reach the top, there are steps written on each stone detailing how to perform the ritual and how to change their habits through an intention based ritual. By writing their habit into stone, they are symbolically committing to changing their habit.
